Unions
A union is a group of managers with one purpose: to explore the game together and share what it pays. Up to twenty clubs pool the points their results earn, and at the end of the season the best unions divide a pool of Scout Points among their members.
What a union is for#
Tacteros is a slow game and a wide one: 224 divisions, four cups and a shared transfer market. A union is how a manager stops playing it alone. You find twenty clubs whose managers turn up, compare what works, and let every result any of you gets count for all of you. The reward is real — Scout Points, the currency that builds players — but the reward is the second reason. The first is that a Champions League tie somewhere in the table matters to a Rookie League club in the same union, because its points are theirs too.
Anyone can create a union. There are no requirements and no entry fee, and a club may belong to one union at a time.
Creating and joining#
A new union needs a name, a description and an emblem; its creator is the Owner. It is either open, and any club joins at once, or closed, and a club sends a request that the Owner or a Director approves, or is invited by the Owner or a Director. The Owner can switch between the two at any time. In the union list a door icon marks the type, a lock marks a closed union, and the OVR figure beside a union is its squad strength. A union holds at most twenty clubs, and a manager who runs several clubs may bring only a limited number of them into the same union.
Roles#
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | The union's creator. Accepts and declines join requests, invites clubs, edits the name, description, policy and emblem, promotes Members to Director and demotes Directors, removes Members or Directors, and hands ownership to another Member. An Owner cannot leave while others remain — ownership must be transferred first |
| Director | Accepts and declines join requests, invites clubs and removes ordinary Members. A Director cannot remove the Owner or another Director |
| Member | Contributes points from match results and has no union administration permissions |
Leaving is done from your own row in the member list. If an Owner's account is deleted, the union passes first to the longest-serving Director, or, if there is no Director, to the longest-serving Member.
How points are earned#
Every competitive match a member club plays adds to the union's rating: 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, nothing for a loss, multiplied by the competition. The points are also credited to the club personally, and those personal points decide the club's share of the payout.
| Competition | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Champions League | 1.3 |
| Contenders League | 1.2 |
| Challengers League | 1.1 |
| National Cup | 1.1 |
| National Championship, Elite | 1.0 |
| National Championship, Pro | 0.9 |
| National Championship, Amateur | 0.8 |
| Rookie League | 0.7 |
| Promotion and relegation play-offs | Each club's own division multiplier |
Friendlies earn nothing. The Unions screen ranks every union by its rating for the current season, and the rating goes back to zero when the season turns over.
The season payout#
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Who qualifies | A union with at least 10 members when the season ends |
| The pool | 6,000 for every qualifying union, capped at 100,000 |
| Who is paid | The top 25 qualifying unions by rating |
| Between unions | A curve of 0.85 per place: each union receives 15% less than the one above it, and the shares are scaled so the pool is paid out exactly |
| Inside a union | 25% split equally among the clubs that contributed points during the season, 75% split by each club's personal season points |
The payout arrives as a Scout Points pack in each member's Inventory. So the union that wins the season is paid most, but a strong club in a weaker union can still take home more than a passenger in the winning one: the 75% follows the points, and the points follow the matches actually played at the highest level.
At the turn of the season#
- The final table is frozen, with each union's member count.
- Every club's season points are recorded.
- The pool is paid.
- Every union's rating and every club's points go back to zero. Unions, members and roles carry on unchanged.
Daily union pack and quests#
Members claim a Daily Union pack once a day: 2,500 with a 6% chance of a Scout Point and a 6% chance of a Gem. Create a Union or Join Existing One and Claim Daily Union Pack are each quests worth 200,000; their quest rewards do not include Scout Points.
What makes a union strong#
Rating comes from active clubs playing at the highest levels: twenty clubs in the Champions League out-score twenty casual Amateur clubs every season, because every one of their wins is worth 3.9 points to the other's 2.4, and they play cup matches on top of the championship. But a club that plays every match earns more for the union than a stronger one that lets fixtures pass, and a union that talks — about lineups, the market, which cup tie is worth resting a striker for — is the one whose members stay.
