Energy
A player’s energy carries from one match to the next. Matches and training reduce it, the Recovery Centre restores it, and the official-lineup minimum makes squad depth and rotation matter across a busy season.
What a match and a session cost#
The base cost is 10 energy for a full match and 5 for a training session, multiplied by the player's age band.
| Age band | Factor | Full 90 minutes | Training session |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18 to 22 | 0.8 | 8 | 4 |
| 23 to 27 | 1.0 | 10 | 5 |
| 28 to 33 | 1.2 | 12 | 6 |
- Each match played in a row adds 5% to the next one's cost.
- Manager Pressing changes the match coefficient: High ×1.20, Medium ×1.00, Low ×0.80.
- At the current cup setting, National Cup, Champions League, Contenders League and Challengers League matches cost half the ordinary post-match energy loss. Other official competitions use the ordinary loss.
- A substitute pays in proportion to his minutes: 30 minutes is a third of the figure. A player who played at all pays at least 1.
- Extra time counts by the minutes played: 120 minutes costs four thirds of a 90-minute appearance. A penalty shootout adds no minutes.
- Friendlies cost nothing: everyone plays them on full energy and nothing is deducted afterwards.
The official-lineup minimum#
A player may be selected for an official match at exactly 20% energy, but not below it. The lineup screen rejects him until recovery brings him back to the threshold. Friendlies are the exception: selection ignores the stored figure and the simulation gives every player 100% for that match.
Getting it back#
A Recovery Centre session of 23 hours returns 8 energy times the Physio's factor (1.0, 1.1, 1.25 or 1.5) times the band factor, which runs the other way: 1.2 for 18 to 22, 1.0 for 23 to 27, 0.8 for 28 to 33. That is 9.6, 8 and 6.4 with the free Assistant and 14.4, 12 and 9.6 with a Master. Energy never passes 100. One recovery slot at level 1, five at level 20.
| Moment | Energy |
|---|---|
| Founding squad | 80% |
| Start of every season | 80 + Recovery Centre level (81 to 100%); injured players 10% |
| While injured | 0% |
| When treatment ends | 80 + Recovery Centre level |
| Lowest to be picked for a competitive match | 20% |
| In a friendly | Everyone plays on 100% |
Energy and Stamina are different#
Energy persists between matches and affects the performance a player brings to the next one. Stamina starts at 100 inside each match and is not saved afterwards. Everyone loses some Stamina from unavoidable match fatigue, while movement and harder physical work cost extra. Active outfield players usually tire more than goalkeepers because they do more running.
As a rough guide, an average-age outfielder with a normal Medium-Pressing workload may finish 90 minutes around 50 Stamina, while a goalkeeper may be around 70. These are not fixed results: age and actual work matter. Extra time keeps draining Stamina, and lower Stamina reduces performance in ordinary play.
Across championship and cup fixtures, the useful answer is squad rotation: the club can carry 18 to 50 players while the match squad uses 17. Frequent training creates the same trade-off, because the selected player spends energy that may instead be needed for the next official lineup.
