Calendar
The Calendar is the club’s schedule: every fixture by day, competition, stage and leg. Official matches use two daily slots, twelve hours apart.
The two slots#
| Slot | Competitions |
|---|---|
| One | National Championships and the Rookie League |
| The other, twelve hours later | Champions League, Contenders League, Challengers League and the National Cup |
A club competing in the championship and a cup can therefore play two official matches on the same day. A cup match costs its players half the energy of a championship match. The Calendar rows carry the day, the date and time, the tournament and the stage, with Leg 1 and Leg 2 for two-legged ties.
The shape of a season#
- The Rookie League has 26 Game Days in one shared Swiss-style competition. A club that registers during an active season joins the next draw that has not already been finalised.
- Every Amateur, Pro and Elite division has fourteen clubs. Each club meets the other thirteen twice across 26 regular championship Game Days; promotion and relegation play-offs follow.
- Cup stages run alongside in the other slot: qualifying, the eight league-phase match days, then the knockout rounds; the National Cup from qualification to its final.
- Only the top six in each Elite division qualify for an international cup in the following season: places 1–2 for the Champions League, 3–4 for the Contenders League and 5–6 for the Challengers League.
- Friendlies use their own arranged kick-off times and do not replace an official slot. They can be requested from this screen and from the Dashboard.
- After the last championship round the transfer market stops listing new players; lots already open run to their deadlines, and listing resumes with the new season.
- When the season is over the Calendar says so and offers a friendly until the next one begins.
The transition places add two national-competition fixtures. Places 9 to 12 in Elite, Pro and Amateur defend their tier over two legs; places 2 and 3 in Pro and Amateur challenge from below, as do Rookie League places 257 to 768 against Amateur. Those clubs can therefore play 28 national championship or transition fixtures: 26 in the regular competition and two in the play-off.
Planning around it#
A full match costs a player 8, 10 or 12 energy by age band, a Recovery Centre slot returns 8 to 14.4 every 23 hours, a check-up is due every 30 days and takes 23 hours: the Calendar is where you see which of your players will be short of 20% energy, or overdue, on the day it matters.
