Players

Skills & OVR

Six skills per player, and OVR is simply their sum. Outfield players and goalkeepers carry different sets, and value and salary follow from OVR and age.

The six skills#

OutfieldGoalkeeper
Defense Kicking
Heading Aerial
Passing Anticipation
Pace Positioning
Shooting Reaction
Ball Control Jumping

OVR is the sum. A goalkeeper with 121 Kicking, 87 Aerial, 93 Anticipation, 80 Positioning, 104 Reaction and 115 Jumping is OVR 600; a left-back with 50, 21, 52, 49, 7 and 24 is OVR 203. No skill goes below 1 and the six never add up to more than 999. Skills are drawn by position — a centre-back arrives with 27 to 33% of his OVR in Defense and 4.5 to 5.5% in Shooting, a striker the other way round — so two players of the same OVR in different positions are different footballers.

Value#

A player's base value, in Balance, is

9,261,009 × (OVR ÷ 999)2.5 × (1 − 0.7 × (age − 18) ÷ 15)1 + OVR ÷ 999

So a player at OVR 999 aged 18 is worth $ 9,261,009, value climbs steeply with OVR, and it falls with age. A 26-year-old at OVR 203 is worth $ 98,238. The value is what a transfer lot opens at, what a quicksell pays a share of, and what salary is charged on.

Salary#

Where your club playsSalary per match
Elite0.4% of value
Pro0.3%
Amateur0.2%
Rookie League0.15%

Salary is paid for every player under contract on every competitive match the club plays, whether he played or not, less the Director's cut. The $ 98,238 full-back above costs $ 147 a match in the Rookie League and $ 393 in Elite. Friendlies charge nothing.

Where OVR appears#

On the card and the roster, on the lineup as Total Performance, on every transfer lot, in the match header as Squad OVR, and in the standings and the header chip as OVR XI — the sum of your ten best outfield players and your best goalkeeper, explained on the Leaderboards page.
